Batman Action Figures

From his first days as a lead figure carnival prize back in the 1940′s until his current movie action hero persona, Batman has always been the “cool” superhero.

The brainy, Bruce Wayne created tools and weapons with real style and punch… no wimpy web or dorky x-ray vision for The Bat.

Of course, Bruce has been working out quite a bit over the last few decades and it shows in the latest line of action figures.  (Actually, I suspect there has been some steroid use… muscles like these don’t grow on trees)

Another thing that doesn’t grow on trees…

The true Batman action figure collector’s ultimate figure, better known as, the Marx Toy Company 4″ tall poseable figure from the 1960′s.  Even better is if you can get your greedy little hands on those mini-batcuffs or bat-a-rangs.  Very few remain in-tact.

Keep an eye out for the Ideal Toy Company 1966 twelve inch Captain Action doll.  At the time, you could buy multiple costumes and accessories, including the Batman Costume.

By 1972 Mego Corporation released an eight inch version of the Captain Action type doll.  Again, they went with the multiple costumes.  You could also buy a number of accessories including, a sword, ray gun and hat.

Mego Corp was also the first to release the eight inch molded plastic Comic Action Figures in 1975.
